Mark started painting in 1995, having mastered Ceramics and Pottery, and his initial work included lots of the unusual glazes that he had been using whilst working with ceramics.

Many of the speciality glazes included frit which burst in the firing process and created textures which fitted in beautifully with the quirky techniques Mark uses in his painting of nature and wildlife.

Mark is renowned for creating very modern pieces using vivid colours and textures using flora and fauna as his source material, and so it is hardly surprising that Mark has not only been featured in a book, but also in over 30 magazines, and has won many prizes at National Shows.

Mark’s love of all things creative, including interior design, digital photography and painting, means he has a keen eye able to twist nature we have been looking at for years, into a modern masterpiece.

Mark has recently built his own studio adjoining his house and is one of the teachers on the international painting forum, www.ppioforum.com
