Lina is a Palestinian who was born in Cairo, Egypt.  Although Lina’s education through Primary and Secondary was at a French School  in Cairo she gained a diploma in Interior Design in Geneva, Switzerland.  Lina has been interested in Art since childhood and it later became her hobby.

When working as a Travel Agent in North Virginia, USA Lina visited her parents and reunited with a childhood friend.  Love blossomed and luckily for us, Lina moved to England in 1994. Lina started learning China Painting in 1999 after moving to Stoke on Trent where her husband works as a Family Doctor.  The history of Stoke on Trent alone was enough to draw Lina’s artistic talent towards painting and she will always be indebted to her teachers, Terry Abbotts, David Bailey and Tony Challiner.

Today Lina organises a China Painting Group in Stoke and has supported Centigrade˚ and its students from the start.  Lina divides her time between painting, cooking, reading and her beloved birds.

It took ages for the birds to visit Lina’s garden – but perseverance paid off, and now Lina has learned to identify all the British species that visit her and is painting a set of mugs with her own collection of garden birds.

Favourite holidays are spent in Greece, Italy and Egypt and although she loves Eastern food, Lina’s absolute favourite is sushi, which she makes herself.

Lina has contributed much talent and exquisite work to China Painting, and although she considers “home” where she actually lives, her only wish is to exhibit her work in Palestine as Lina believes that art can give a message of peace and unite people.
