Jennifer is a 25 year old multi media artist studying for her second degree in Ceramics at the University of Central Lancashire in Preston, UK. Jennifer went straight from school to college and studied for GNVQ in Art and Design. From there Jennifer moved to the Cumbria Institute of the Arts where she achieved a degree in Fine Art. After this Jennifer moved to Sheffield for 2 years where she collaborated with her partner on an ongoing digital art project at the same time as working on her own sculptural projects. Jennifer’s degree course covers all aspects of ceramic design and making, but she found that the tuition given on decorating the finished pieces was limited, and so she spent last years summer break gaining more experience in surface decoration, and the application of not just paint but also lustres and precious metals. Jennifer spends her time on many arts and crafts, including printmaking and drawing as well as textiles and jewellery making. Jennifer is very involved with Community Arts and teaches workshops in association with Mid Pennine Arts, in Burnley. Jennifer’s work is meticulous and precise and her demonstrations at Centigrade˚ proved that she not only has the ability to produce high quality work, but also has a high standard of presentation and teaching skills. We are hoping to be able to persuade Jennifer to demonstrate at Centigrade˚……..by Design in 2010. Philip Bradley worked alongside Jennifer at Centigrade 2009 and we showcase his work alongside Jennifers. Jennifer can be contacted on 07739 836848 |
