David is well known in UK as one of the best Raised Paste and Enamel Artists working today, and he continues with his classes twice per month and his private commissions. David joined Minton in 1962 and was trained in the arts for which he is famous which had been passed down by the world’s finest artists from Victorian times. Whilst David was at Minton there was a superb 225 piece dinner service ordered for a Texan family, who came to Stoke-on-Trent to see the completed set which took 3 years to complete. In 1977 David joined Spode China and worked in their Prestige Department where again special commissions of very ornate vases and dinner services were undertaken. This is where David remained until 1991, when David decided to become self-employed working in small companies producing specimen items. David enjoys teaching and has travelled all over the UK, and also to Jersey, Hong Kong, and Australia to give seminars and workshops. David’s other passions are Golf, Italian food, Playing guitar and his narrow boat where he love to spend his time relaxing on the beautiful canals throughout UK.
